Test and Analysis of the Electromagnetic Influence of Signal Cable on Tianjin - Qinhuangdao Passenger Dedicated Railway Line

Abstract:Research purposes : The signal cables along high speed railway are always affected by the traction power supply system. Combined Tianjin - Qinhuangdao Passenger Dedicated Line's alignment joint - test,we took a series of test measuring the induced voltage on signal cable by an electromagnetic interference causing from the traction power supply system. The length of the testing cable is 2. 7 kilometers, and we set two kinds of shielding layer grounding mode,one is single ended grounding, the other is double ended grounding. The signal cable s voltage and current of both core wire and shielding layer were tested under the condition of traction power supply s normal operation and short - circuit fault condition. This paper can offer rich data and effective analysis on the field of electromagnetic influence from traction power supply and the signal cable electromagnetic protection design.
Research conclusions:(1 ) The core wire's induced voltage can reach to 36 V under the normal condition of contact line,360 V under the fault condition. (2)The design specification that making shielding layer signal ended grounding every 3 kilometers is tolerable in electromagnetic protection design under connect line's normal operation condition.(3) Longitudinal induction electromotive force produced by the cable side line load is 1. 3 times of the far side line, longitudinal induction electromotive force produced by the direct feeding power supply system is more than 4 times of the all parallel AT power supply mode. (4) When the shielding layer was double end grounding,the induced voltage can fall to half of the former value,but there will be current flowing in the shielding layer and the current will cause dangerous when the contact line was short circuited. So we should chose different grounding method according to the safety level requirement of signal cable and special condition of railway line. (5) This research result can provide guidance and reference for signal cable grounding method selection and electromagnetic compatibility design of high speed railway.
