Abstract:Research purposes: The 220 kV protection configuration and feeder protection configuration of the traction substation of the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway and the other passenger dedicated railways are not the same, there is no a unified standard. Based on the analyses of the position of the high-speed railway s traction substation in 220 kV power grid, the problems in the current high-speed railway's 220 kV protection configuration in China and the application of the over thermal load protection, and in combination with the 220 kV transformer and line protection configuration of the power system, a suitable relay protection scheme of traction substation of high-speed railway in China is presented for providing the reference to the similar works.
Research conclusions: For the high-speed railway's traction substation 220kV lines on the power system side, the double optical fiber current differential protections should be used as the main protection configuration for the whole line, and the distance protection, current quick-breaking protection, over current protection and zero-sequence current protection should be used as the backup protection. The over thermal load protections of the 220 kV traction transformer and feeders should replace the traditional timing and limiting overload protection
