Abstract Since the standard of railway line is greatly raised，the greatest difficult points that the high-speed railways pass through a city are the large amount of demo litions and the railway territory in contradiction with the planning of the city. This paper concisely analyses some ways for selecting the line of the high-speed railway passing through the city.
