Abstract The mode of transportation of the high-speed and medium-speed mixed traffic is quite different from either the single high-speed traffic or the single medium-speed traffic. Based on the above concept and the present specialities of our railways，and concerned with the track mechanics，the speed matching of the high-speed and medium-speed mixed traffic and its relative problems are discussed in this paper. Several suggestions are also proposed in the paper.
