Abstract According to the analyses on the feature of plastic flow and tensile crack model land?slide widely existed at Shaanbei loess area and its formation mechanism, this paper discusses the basis for classifying this type of landslide and the features of its deformation motion. The main points of field investigations and the principles of engineering dispositions are also introduced for this type of landslide.
