Abstract After having analysed the geology of Erlangshan Tunnel and compared several kinds of be?forehand bracing technologies，the paper draws a conclusion as follows：the technique of beforehand bracing with large steel-pipe-shield is fairly effective for construction of soft and weak fracture zone, and the Ingersollrand KR80412 Pipe Shield Boring Machine offers better guarantee for this kind of bracing. Moreover ,the paper also introduces the working principle.the specification and application ef?fect of the aforesaid Boring Machine.
