Abstract From the viewpoint of the development of social economy，the specialities of development of cities in West Chi na are expounded. The existing problems in development of urban economy in West Chi na are analyzed. The key is aimed at to strengthen the social economic connections between the super-huge and specially big ci ties with the medium and small ci ties-It is pointed out that to develop the inter-city transport should be the essential means for developing the urban economy in West China.
