Abstract There were different conceptions concerned with adopting “wheel/rail" or “magnetic suspension” scheme for Jing-Hu high speed railway. The paper introduces briefly the developing situations of high speed railways in home and abroad, as well as the importance of the construction of Jing-Hu high speed railway. The technical-economics and feasibility comparisons are put forward between the “wheel/rail” schemes with the "magnetic suspension" scheme. It is considered that the "wheel/rail" scheme should be adopted for the Jing-Hu high speed railway.
