Abstract With the example of the application in remote sensing (RS) exploration of Shi-Tai Railway engineering geological disaster and geographical information system (GIS), the article describes the actual application of RS and GIS in exploration of railway engineering geological disaster from design, foundation and function of the system. The system provides a useful manner for querying and knowing the information of railway engineering geological disaster.
