Abstract Skeleton frame bridge jacking method is a frequently adopted practice in the construction of existing railway lines. It has been extensively applied in railway engineering construction. This thesis probes into the treatment of engineering process on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, for which the longitudinal uplift girder is under the complicated pressure condition and with great span. The construction on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway is under such unfavorable conditions: great interference from the intensive traffic and high speed of trains, adverse geologic conditions in terms of the high subterranean water pressure in constructions on existing river channels and the drift sand interference in pile constructions, etc. and the difficulties with intersected trackages. The thesis is supposed to provide some experiences on the engineering construction under adverse geologic conditions and complicated pressure status, and serve as a reference for safety management for the construction on existing railway lines.
