Abstract Based on brief introduction of general situation of Xinjiang ecologic environment，the necessity and feasibility of constructing an 1000 km long green corridor arc analyzed and discussed concerned with several aspects. Only by constructing an ecologic protective screen for railways in West China，the railway main artery of communications may be guaranteed to open unimpeded.
