Abstract This paper sums up experiences and lessons in the aspects of high-speed railway construction and transport organization patterns in Japan and Germany. Combining the preliminary study and design circumstances of high-speed railways in China，it conducts valuable study on several problems corresponding to station and yard of high-speed railway that have not been conducted deep study at current stage. These problems include the connecting mode between the stations of high-speed railway and that of the existing line，the options of operating pattern of high-speed railway，standard plane layout of the station of high- speed railway and its application scope. It sums up the design of stations and yards of the proposed Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway corresponding to the relative problems，which can be referred for study and design of high-speed railway in the future.
