| TECHNOLOGY OF TREATMENT FOR KARST ENCOUNTERED IN TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION |

Abstract Karat is a geological phenomenon that is usually encountered in tunnel construction. It could lead to water spraying and mud flowing from excavation face and deformation, cracking and collapse of ground and lining. Therefore, it will affect the construction speed，jeopardize the safety of construction and spoil the environment. 1n this paper, the principle of treatment for the karat is presented and the methods of dealing with the karat are discussed for different type of karst. Moreover, the construction practice is introduced.
