Abstract The flame normalizing treatments were put forward on steel rail with flash welding, gas pressure welding and aluminium heat welding. At the same time, the comparisons of metallographic organizations and mechanics properties among the normalized rail, non-normalized rail and steel rail themselves were put forward also. The results show that through the flame normalizing treatment, the original austenitic crystalline grains maybe fined obviously,the percentage elongation and the shock efficiency of rail joints with flash welding, gas pressure welding and aluminium heat welding may be raised, and the tensile strength of rail joints with aluminium heat welding may be enlarged obviously. And by the flame normalizing, the requirements of TB/T1632-1991 on the mechanics properties may be obtained for the rail joints with flash welding and gas pressure welding?
