Abstract This paper makes a comparison among catenary equipment, tramway type catenary equipment and stitched catenary equipment in technology and economy in accordance with the development situation, operation experience and evaluation standards for pantograph and catenary current collection of foreign countries, and proposes that tramway type catenary should be adopted on Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway.
