Abstract This paper reviews the construction experience of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge built in 1950, presents the "Tubular Drilling Method" and a series of the creative technologies adopted in design and fabrication of the bridge and describes the popularization, application and further development of these technologies in fabricating Nanjing Yangtze Bridge, Wuhu Bridge and Hengzhou Bay Bridge over Sea.
