Abstract The project of Qiyueshan Tunnel is a controlled project for Yichang-Wanzhou Railway Line. The Deshengchang subterranean river, suited in the middle of the tunnel, causes great harm to the tunnel. This paper analyses the hydrogeology problems related to trough valley, karstic water and subterranean flow in Deshengchang of Qiyueshan Tunnel and their influences on the tunnel, proposes the prevention and consolidation measures.
