Abstract Research purposes: With the development of smelting technology of aluminium and improvement of the performance of aluminium alloy materials, aluminium alloy materials have been used widely. The researches are done on the development progress and characteristics of aluminium alloy bridge for the purposes of promoting application of aluminium alloy bridge.
Research methods: The exploration is made on the advantages and disadvantages of aluminium alloy bridge through making analyses of the structure and application situations of existing aluminium alloy bridges at home and abroad.
Research conclusions: Although aluminium alloy materials need much investment, but it still has a bright applicable prospect because of its high strength-weight ratio, easy assembly, perfect durability and low maintenance cost.
