Abstract Research purposes:The presently applied splay saddles for the suspension bridge in China are or similar types,the rotation angle is small and it is difficult to rotate and slide,which results in uneven force condition of main cable strands. Because of the splay saddle is of critical importance for safety of the bridge,it is primary developing direction to study and adopt new structure,new material for splay saddles with improving performance.
Research conclusions:This paper takes an analysis and study into domestically adopted splay saddles,proposed a new type of splay saddle,base - type splay saddle innovatively. It has advantages,simple structure,better function,convenient maintenance access,the disadvantages of existing saddles,such as huge,uneven force condition of anchorage,inconvenient erection and transport
