Research conclusions:According to the geological condition of the Yingwuzhou Yangtze River bridge，the study was done on the retaining structure． The application of " single row pile in breastwork on the pile top " in protecting the levee for the Pier 3 was the most economic and effective structural pattern． The construction practice showed application of the m method along with the computing method to calculate the bending moment，shearing force，deformation of the section of the fender pile body and the soil pressure on the pile side was scientific and reasonable，and with this method，the safety of pile could be ensured．
