Discussion on Misunderstanding and Implementation Principle of Railway BIM |

Abstract Abstract:Research purposes: As phenomenon for inappropriate copinism and separatist on building BIM at present in railway industry, from professional view of information technology and spatial cognition, we revel the misunderstanding of railway BIM building which significantly different from architectural BIM. The concept of RIM is proposed to distinguish from BIM, and then we dissect its main features at different stages and put forward the basic construction principles for RIM.
Research conclusions:(1) Essential difference hinder interoperability between BIM and RIM. RIM should build on digital earth space in order to guarantee consistency space and system integrity, only in this way can guarantee the full life cycle application and universal adaptability at all depth and breadth. (2) RIM's construction should follow the line steps of basic RIM platform→digital railway product→application standards→application RIM, do good top-level design to avoid unnecessary waste and orderly carry out the implementation of RIM. (3) In terms of its advantages on comprehensive technical and data resources, railway design enterprises have the best conditions to shoulder RIM platform construction and then bring forward total solutions and industry standards for RIM. (4) This research provides an active role in guiding the current hot RIM railway construction.
