Abstract：Research purposes: Many urban rail transits are built in the big cities in China． With construction and development of metro，the design idea and construction technology have become more and more mature． In this paper， the introduction is given to the commercial development of the underground space of urban rail transit on consideration of the high efficiency and convenience of the metro network and explanation is made on the design features． The regional culture of Hunan featured with long time and splendidness is reflected in the design．
Research conclusions: ( 1) The seamless joint of the people travel can be realized and the station and commerce are integrated by connecting the second floor of the underground space with the floor of the station hall． ( 2) The convenient underground environment and space are realized for the people by introducing the light from the middle yard of the square． ( 3) Also the fire alarm system，the interaction control system，monitoring systems for environment and devices and communication system should be considered in the design．
