Abstract：Research purposes: Taking the track joining scheme of release line of Dalian Metro Depot of the first stage project of Dalian metro line 2 as an example, the comprehensive analysis of the track joining are made for the purposes of optimizing the scheme and showing how to make the analyses of it based on the urban planning, land form conditions, line directions, depot location and form and location of the station as well as design principles and technical standards, so as to solve the difficult problems in track joining under different conditions.
Research conclusions: The release line should be located at terminal or reentry stations following by the principle of convenience, reducing the running time of empty train and operating costs. That is to say the rational choice of track joining scheme should be conducted after making the analysis of depot, line conditions, vehicle conditions and the joining condition from economical and technical points of view.
