Abstract：Research purposes: Through making analyses of the landform and geological conditions in the valley zone, the principle of route selection is decided for the purpose of providing basis for the route selection.
Research results: The geological route selection between Semai-Dazhuca of Lhasa-Rikaze Railway has the features of route selection in plateau mountain and valley area, so it is necessary to take the unique geographic environment and climate characteristics into account in route selection. Through making analyses and doing researches, one safe, rational and feasible route program is selected, which can save much construction cost.
