Experimental Research on the Fatigue Rigidity of RC Beams Reinforced by CFRP Sheets

Abstract:Research purposes : Concrete structure reinforced with carbon fiber plastic sheet(CFS ) is a new retrofit method in the field of civil engineering. The CFRP-sheet is effective for the improvement of fatigue performance of RC beams, which can prolong the service life of damaged concrete structure.
Research results : Concrete beam's stress-strain under fatigue loading should fit to the assumption of that on the plane and section. Specimens' fatigue flexural rigidity reduces gradually, resulting in enlarging the cracks. The discussion is also made on the calculation methods and formulas for the rigidity of highly strengthened concrete beams under fatigue load and the calculation results conform to the experimental results.
