Abstract:Research purposes: The clearance sections, spans, span numbers,loads and detail sizes of hangar tunnel are studied to find out the controlling factors and characteristics of the internal forces of hangar tunnel, including the characteristics of the distributed steel for the purposes of getting the best design parameters to achieve safety,practical appliance and money saving.
Research conclusions: With consideration of the feasibility of the torsion of the transversal beams, the hangar tunnel will calculated as plane structure and the design parameters of it are mainly controlled by reducing the temperature of 25 Centigrade. The distributed steel for the hangar tunnel is determined by crack-resistance capacity and the steel for the posts is determined by load-carrying capacity. Some transversal beams need taking the torque effects into account. The design gradient of backfill is the crucial factor for the calculation of the internal wall. The stress of the bottom of the foundations is controlled by the buried-depth of three meters. When the span is six meters, there is less work for two-span hangar tunnel, so it suggests adopting the two-span hangar tunnel with span of six meters.
