Abstract：Research purposes: The understanding problems existing in railway engineering insurance should be solved through the competitive bidding system so that it can achieve the low price and high quality.
Research methods: By studying the Qinghai-Tibet railway project insurance experiences，the competitive bidding system and methods are applied in Wuhan Tianxingzhou Major Bridge and its auxiliary projects. This paper applies Demonstration Research Methods，analyses how to confirm bidders，selection of engineering risks and the scope of inviting-bid，the composition of the bidding documents and stressing items in writing inviting-bid documents.
Research conclusions: Carrying out the engineering insures，we accumulate the bidding experiences in railway engineering insures. At the same time，it boosts the healthy and orderly development of railway engineering insurance eventually achieving profits for owners and insurers.
