Abstract：Research purposes: On the basis of building No．1 National Highway from Brazzaville to Pointe Notre in Congo，this paper sums up the construction and management system characteristics of the highway project in Africa for providing the experiences to the Chinese enterprises in developing the construction market in Africa．
Research conclusions: The study shows (1)Africa has extensive highway project contracting market．(2)Most of the African highway projects adopt”Design—Build”management system．(3)African highway design mode is more closely combined with the construction site conditions．and the content of design is more complicated and detailed(4)For African highway project，the contractor faces the various risks，SO the Chinese enterprises should fully investigate the situation，and adopt useful measures to reduce the risk to the minimum．
