Abstract：BOT is the abbreviation of Build-Operation-Transfer, while the BOT investment and joint-stock approach is a kind of investment and joint-venture approach having special permission privilege. The paper expounds the characteristics of the BOT investment approach and its operating modes. Combined with the practical example of applying BOT joint-stock approach for Taiwan high speed railway, several suggestions are proposed for applying BOT investment and joint-venture approach on railway construction in West China.
