Abstract：The Shidaoshan Tunnel is a double-line tunnel on the Hefei-Wuhu high-grade highway with its right-line tunnel crossing big cavern，fault ,joined stratum complex zone and having much accumulations in the tunnel. The paper introduces the experiences and understandings of design and construe- tion of this kind of tunnel and the treatment of the accumulations in following aspects,such as:locking up adjacent danger sections to ensure the rear-area of working region，strengthening rock accumulations around cavern by high-pressure grouting and using anchor bolts,crossing big karst region by applying reinforced concrete tube-beam as a whole，converting large span into small span by using "glasses construction method"to ensure the construction safety,controlling strictly the deformation of surrounding rock to prevent the subsidence of structure,etc. They are valuable as reference for design and construction of similar tunnels.
