Abstract：The paper introduces a new surveying method in which the different surveying station on an existing railway line during the survey procedure are connected as a complete photoelectric guide line， so as to increase the overall accuracy. By using this new surveying method.the levelling accuracy on existing railway line may be increased from 1/2 000 to 1/10 000, It play an important role of raising qualitv and eliminating mistakes for survey and design on existing railway lines.
