Abstract：Control of water seepage in caven” was one of the most important works in the construction procedure of the undersea gas storage cavern. The paper introduces the methods and understandings on the water stoppage by grouting for controlling water seepage during construction of undersea gas storage cavern for the engineering project of Shantou LPG Distributing Center. The expiiences are accumulated for the construction of similar engineering projects，and they are valuable for reference.
