Abstract：The article introduces briefly several actual projects completed in recent years，concerned with the application of remote sensing on planned railway geological surveying，and illustrates the function of applying remote sensing technology. Meanwhile，it points out that in the earlier stage of railway surveying and design，it is necessary to use systematically remote sensing techno logy to investigate engineering geology conditions. Finally，it puts forward the mode of remote sensing application on geological prospecting of planned railw ay li ne.
