Abstract：Based on the summa ry of surv ey-desig n practices in home and the inv estigated operatio n info rmatio n abroad, several opinions on the disposi tio n of metro ca r depot a nd ca r parking ya rd a re pro posed. The autho r sug gests that the car depo t amd the ca r pa rking yard in a same met ro line should be combined in o ne place as po ssible, so tha t to sav e o n la nd and to eco nomi ze the inv estment . The key essentials fo r selecting the position of car depot are analy zed and the reaso nable di st ribution o f the car depo t and the ca r parking yard are also explored.
