Abstract:This paper presents a simulatio n of the ex cav atio n of Qinling tunnel g oing th ro ug h fq7w eak zone by 3D finite element method. It a nalyses the defo rmatio n, st ress di st ribution and the f ractured zo ne of the sur ro unding ro ck in the ex cava tio n process. The resul ts set up a scientific basis for safe co nst ructio n o f the tunnel.
