Abstract:ln this paper, the harmfulness of engineering-geological calamities to railway is discussed,and the advantages of remote sensing technique in investiga ing geological calami?ties of railway are presented. Effects of using remote sensing technique to evaluate engineer?ing geological calamities of railway are depicted and illustrated by examples of investigating landslides, collapses and debris flows, and taking a dynamic analysis of them in the sections from Shawan to Lugu of the Chengkun Railway and from Baoji to Tianshui of the Longhai Railway.
