Abstract：The paper analyzes the moving state and the characters of the train running into the refuge siding. The length of the refuge siding will be determined by the initial state and the final state of the train,no matter what’s the running procedure of the train. By applying twice the law of conservation of energy，the relative equation for solving the length of the refuge siding has been found. Checked by the calculating examples, the results are accurate and the method is simple and comvenient.
