Abstract：The preface to the History of China Railway Survey is written by Mr. Sun Yongfu, the deputy minister of the MOR. Based on the History of China Railway Survey，this preface gives the brilliant conclusions on the historical career and the outstanding achievements of the sur?veying works during our railway developments in the past 100 years. The meanings and the spe?cialities of editing the History of China Railway Survey are also briefly pointed out. It is very im?portant that in the preface there are five suggestions for doing well railway surveying works un?der the new circumstances of the national reformations and the railway constructions. These sug-gestions have the essential guilding significance.
