Abstract There are two kinds of pavement for the High-grade highways, i. e, bituminous concrete pavement and cement concrete pavement. The bituminous concrete pavement has been widely applied on high-grade highways especially on expressways for the following reasons:having superior running properties，convenient construction method,better operating and maintenance conditions，reasonable economics.etc. Based on the construction practices of the bituminous concrete pavement for several ex?pressways and the I-grade high-ways ,the paper introduces systematically its working specialities , prin?ciple ,procedure, selection of engineering mechinary,technical standards,quality control,etc.
