Abstract：By applying the earthquake coefficient method，the simplified calculating formula for earth pressure of earthquake at the back of the abutment of the railway bridge has been derived. Avoided from the conception of the earthquake angle, the formula has the specialities of simple and convenient with high accuracy and strong suitability.
