Abstract：This paper is the preface to the Research on Traction Power Supply Technology of High-speed Railway. The preface is written by Mr. Sun Yongfu ,the deputy minister of the MOR. The idea on “not only must exert oneself to expand ability ,but also must exert one- self to raise speed ”in order to lessen the intense state of our railway transport is put forward. The different model about raising speed and the five questions must be paid attention on re- search of traction power supply of high 一 speed railway in future are suggested. There is great guiding sense in this paper.
