Abstract：The tunnel portal is an important part of a tunnel. They are multiformed, and should be selected according to their topographic and geologic conditions and their working trait. Combined with the design requirements and the trait of the tunnel portal at Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway, this paper introduces a new type of tunnel portal the tunnel portal without end wall. Its trait, adopted conditions, drainage system and account of structure are introduced in detail.
