Abstract：By reviewing the history of the stability analysis on surrounding rock of underground works and analyzing the problems of the construction practices, the author states that, instead of fuzzy and accurate calculations, an objective and overall manner should be taken for the analysis on the surrounding rocks of underground works, and promotes new research concepts and methods.
