Abstract:Research purposes: This paper's aims were target values of time and speed which was suited to the features of the railway, satisfied with transport requirement, accorded to railway developing strategy and realized to the best economic benefit.
Research methods: Combining with the regional economy and the transport features of the intercity rail this paper compared and analyzed the economy and adaptability of the target value of different speeds adopted.
Research results: This paper initially determined the target values of time and speed for the Changchun-Jilin intercity rail.
Research Conclusions: The target value of time was controlled within one hour and adopted with 250km/h, which were suitable to regional economic features and accorded to the speedy development of passenger railway. It was the best scheme to realize the maximum economic benefit of the project.
