Abstract：Research purposes: With the construction development of city，the usable land resources in city becomes less and less． If the car depot is laid out with double － layer，it can save a lot of land and increase the utilization of the land． Combined with the general layout of double － layer of the Henggang Car Depot of Line 3 of Shenzhen metro，this paper analyzes and discusses the adjusted design of the general layout after the depot laid out with double － layer．
Research conclusions: The utilization of the land can be enhanced after the depot laid out with double － layer，but there are some impacts on the design of the general layout． In order to improve the capacities of car coming in，going out and car washin as well as meeting the traffic requirement，some facilities should be added and operation management measures should be taken after the depot is laid out with double － layer． This can be as the reference to the similar works in future．
