Abstract：Research purposes: The construction of works across existing railway lines takes up a significant proportion of the current railway construction in China. This paper introduces the case of construction of 32 m composite girder of Gulang River Bridge on the second line of Lanzhou-Wuwei Railway across the existing railway line to give more experiences to other similar works in construction.
Research results: In the construction of composite girders of Gulang River Bridge on the second line of Lanzhou-Wuwei Railway , the corresponding construction proposal is adopted to ensure the safe，reliable and successful construction of this project.
Research Conclusions: The selection of construction methods，determination of construction procedures，on-site construction organization and safety control for bridges across existing lines must be standardized so as to get good effects.
