Abstract:The Ganjiang ex tra-lo ng bridg e a t Taihe of Jiang xi Province w as o ne of the impo rtant engineering project s on the Jing-Jiu Rai lway. The leng th o f this bridg e i s 1900. 02 m w ith 52 pier abutment s. The founda tio ns o f the bridge w ere desig ned as 86 reinfo rced concrete g routing pi les. The hy drog eologic co ndi tions along the whole bridge were v ery complex , a nd therefore , the co nst ructio n of i ts foundatio ns under the deep w ater became o ne of the most di fficult point s in the construction of this bridg e. The paper descirbes the method fo r co nst ructing these bridge foundatio ns in the deep wa ter in detail , and ex pounds emphatically the co ntro lling mehods for the key w o rking procedures a nd the measures applied fo r cont rolling the const ruction qualities. They are v aluable as reference fo r the desig n a nd the construction of thi s kind of bridg e fo unda tions in the deep w ater.
