Abstract:Research purposes: The tests of the dynamic responses of the loess slope excited by pile hammer vibrations are done and the analyses of the difference of dynamic response between level ground and side slope are made for the purpose of finding out the external dynamic factors for collapse of side slope in construction.
Research conclusions: The loess slope has strong dynamic responses to the construction vibrations, and especially, the dynamic responses of the crest part of the slope are much stronger than that of the free field (horizontal surface). The topographic amplification effects should be one of the potential factors for the collapse of loess slope in the foundation reinforcement process. Therefore,to ensure the stability of the slope and construction safety, it is very important to take temporaiy reinforcement measure for loess slope.
