Abstract：Combined with the communication engineering works for the Shimen-Changsha Railway，the paper introduces the structural mode of SDH-155 synchronous transmission system used in the Shi-Chang Railway and its design characteristics. The circular circuit transmission network constructed according a ring mode has been adopted， and a dispatching real~loop exchange-function installation has been established in order to guarantee the continuity of the dispatching telecommunication.
