Abstract：Two mtehods for treating the underground water in mountain tunnels are analyzed in this paper. With a more reasonable economical long-term point of view, the author pro?poses the method, in which blocking up the underground water is the principal means，en?abled to protect the biologic circumstances on the top of the tunnels and for lessenning the defects of the tunnels themselves. Combined with practical engineering examples，the princi?pal structural measures of this method have been introduced. According to the permeating principle of the underground water，the calculating formula of outer water pressure on the wall of the tunnel has been also derived and applicable to be used.
